Obesity prevention experts from around the country will gather for an all-day conference on Tuesday, December 11, to present the latest research and innovative techniques used in the battle against obesity.

The conference, which is open to professionals in education, public health and related fields, and to parents, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton in East Brunswick.

Roy A. Bowers 62nd Annual Pharmaceutical Conference Set for October 3 in Piscataway

The Roy A. Bowers 62nd Annual Pharmaceutical Conference will take place Wednesday, October 3, at the Radisson Hotel in Piscataway. Pharmacists, pharmacy students, academic faculty, nurses, pharmaceutical and healthcare executives, and physicians are invited to attend. Pharmacists will receive continuing education (CE) credits for attendance.

The conference is named in honor of the late Roy A. Bowers, who served as dean of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy from 1951 to 1978. It is the longest, continuously running pharmacy conference series in the nation, and remains committed to advancing all areas of pharmacy practice in hospitals, communities and the pharmaceutical industry, as professionals strive to deliver the best possible health care for patients.

The Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program, administered by Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies, Professional Development Division, is a fellowship program designed to facilitate the empowerment and further development of school nurses as leaders within their community’s educational and health services teams to improve student health practices.

The fellowship program includes:

  • Five-day Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Institute
  • Online continuing education courses in health areas
  • Continuing networking and development opportunities for alumni
