The Center for Government Services (CGS) has been providing timely and relevant training for New Jersey state and local officials for over 60 years. This summer CGS is offering extended learning opportunities and mainstay programs for state and municipal employees.

New this summer is the Mini-Conference for Assessors. This two-day event is offered three times during the month of June in New Brunswick and Hammonton. Topics include Commissioners Short Course, Retaining and Recapturing Value, and Compliance Plans, to name a few.

13th Annual Current Issues in Planning and Zoning Conference is offered June 14 and held at The Imperia in Somerset. The popular conference is offered annually to those who hold a Planning/Zoning Board Secretary, Land Use Administrator, or Zoning Official certificate through CGS. Attendees receive 5 hours of continuing education credits toward the renewal of their Rutgers certificates.

The Summer Educational Facility Management Program will be offered throughout the month of July in Parsippany, Mays Landing, and New Brunswick. This special summer session, designed to cover a variety of managerial subjects, provides managers with tips and tools to lead and operate facilities in times of fair or foul weather.

In the coming months CGS will offer some of its standard courses including Practical Purchasing, Introduction to Accounting, and Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) and the Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP). Courses are held in varous locations throughout New Jersey. For more information on these and other CGS programs, visit their website or call 732-932-3640.
