The community is invited to “Cirque du Scarlet,” an evening of social dancing and Latin dance instruction in the College Avenue Gym on the New Brunswick Campus, Saturday, November 3. Music will be provided by Brian Nash, founding coach of the Rutgers University Ballroom Dance Team, which co-sponsors the event with Rutgers Recreation.

Dancers of all ages may attend the dance social, 8:30 p.m. to midnight, with or without a partner. The dance is co-sponsored by the Rutgers University Recreation Instructional Program and the Rutgers Ballroom Dance Team.

Prior to the dance social, Nash will teach a 90-minute Salsa/Mambo and Rumba workshop for experienced dancers from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. At the same time, Carmen Valverde, founder of the dance program at Rutgers Recreation, will teach basic steps of these dances for beginners. Prior experience is neither expected nor required for the basic workshop.
