Newly renamed and refurbished, the Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center is putting out the welcome mat for Scarlet Knights fans traveling to High Point Stadium to cheer on their favorite team this fall.

The inn is offering a $79 per night football package the weekends of September 8 and October 27. The package includes a room with two double beds, complimentary continental breakfast, free parking and access to campus buses that travel to the stadium. All rooms also have free wi-fi.

Set in a verdant corner of the Douglass Campus across from Woodlawn, the historic university inn occupies the former Sydney B. Carpender estate, known as Lindenwood, built in 1911 for one of New Brunswick’s distinguished families. The original house and its landscaped grounds remain part of the facility.

The inn offers a convenient, yet peaceful retreat for alumni as well as the general public traveling to campus to take in a game or visit the university for reunions or other events. Its conference faciliies can accommodate meetings, retreats and conferences for up to 100 persons.

This past spring, the inn’s 25 guest rooms were redecorated and refurnished in a contemporary, elegant style to complement exposed brick and garden views. Each room features two double beds. A warm, inviting ambiance was created with rich, espresso-colored credenzas and nightstands with brushed nickel hardware, smoky gray sitting chairs and scarlet touches in the bedding and décor. The transformation emphasizes guest comfort and functionality. All rooms have private baths.

Meeting rooms also have been updated and can accommodate the technology needs of groups and organizations. The facility offers fine catering services for special events and meetings. The sun-washed dining room can accommodate plenary sessions as well as dining events.
